About Banbury Symphony Orchestra

Who?

BSO members are all local musicians. Some of us are instrumental teachers. We’re all passionate about the unique experience of symphony orchestral music.

When?

We rehearse through each school term to perform three symphony orchestra concerts each year. Our smaller chamber orchestra concerts are typically in May.

Where?

All of our concerts take place in and around Banbury, typically at Deddington Church, St Mary’s in the centre of town and at Hook Norton Church.

Conductor

Our conductor and musical director is Paul Willett who trained as a professional French Horn player and now works as a Deputy Headteacher.

Leader

Our principal violinist and leader is Anna Fleming, a local violin teacher who started her professional musical career with the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra in South Africa.

Play with us

If you play an instrument to a standard of Grade 7 or above and would like to play with the orchestra, find out more by contacting our leader Anna via our contact page.
